More Hakka Bak Mei. A bridge conditioning drill involving sandbag and a 2 men set. It is just me or do they look like they are doing Fukien Kung Fu?

Eric, Why are you so stubborn all the time?
It seems that the White Crane practitioners are doing Hakka Boxing, not the other way around!
Have another drink,
Evert.

Dit Ngau Tong long got its name from Choi Dit Ngau ( Iron ox Choi). regards to other statments on the net Choi Dit Ngau was not a student of Lau Soi , Lau soi is not in our Lineage. Our Founder was Hung Mei/ Sam Dot=Red Eyebrow from omei san. According to my Sifu. The Desciples of Choi Dit Ngau Decided to Name the art after him at the turn of the centuary. The other name that Dit Ngau is reffered to is Ju/ Jew Gar Royal Family kung fu.

Sam Dot or Dot Sam lived in the late 18th century, and was a martial artist from which derived many systems. Such as Mui Fa Tong Long, but also Jook Lum directly linked to this inheritor.
Sam Dot taught two practitioners named Wong Da Yun and Lee Seen Si. In return Wong Da Yun taught two taosit priests Sing Siu (Lohan Tong LOng) and Yu Chow (Sun Kik Tong Long), And so many branches can be traced back to this great martial artist names Sam Dot.
Further: "... with a kungfu style to have been created for the express purpose of controling the existing 36 styles used by the Emperor's elite (legend) ".

Evert.

I found some more personal notes (translations) back about Sam Dot.
He was actually a Siu lam Boxer on Ting Hu Shan during the reign of Kien Long. His nickname was "Mui Fa" Cheung Yan. In the temple that Sam Dot stayed, they already practiced an Boxing art from Ding Ying Seen Si (who in return was a student of Kieth Loi).
In the temple Kau Yuen Si (Sun Wei district) there he taught a [unique] form of Siu lam Boxing.
In the same Chinese article they state too that Sam Dot did visit Tibet......
Warm regards,
Evert.

"Sun Kik Tong Long" - Evert you got more info here ? This is one system that has always intrigued me. I will post some pics from this system later. What can you tell me about "White Tiger" or "Bak Fu". Looking at their salute, they come across as Hakka? I really got no info on this system at all. Thanks.

Kiang Fa Loong was the creator of this system, if I follow my handwritings in this style. he was a student of Yu Chow (Lee Yee Kan). Kiang Fa Loong escaped to Ting Chow (Mount Taishan).
Eric, I will try to find more material and scan some pictures. What I remember it did look a bit as a 'bizarre' system. But maybe my memory left me a little bit...

That is interesting i have heard that Juk Lum tong long is also called mui fa tong long. And that Sam Dot was the founder of Juk Lum. Which certain branches are similar to Dit Ngau.

Dear Diligentmantis,
History is full of artist that had such an enormous charisma and skill, that many systems were created from them. Gee Seen Sim Si, Ng Mui, but also Sam Dot, Sam Tak Woseung, Chan Heung, Tam Sam, Wong Fei Hung,... Very good teachers with high skills and wisdom.
No way to see things too abstract, they are just words. More important is looking closely to the faat/ fa and geng/ jing and see the relations and concepts. The big picture will tell you much more then a name.
Example: The name of Seven Star Praying Mantis Boxing was known in the past as Lo Han Tong Long. Why was this changed?
Warm regards,
Evert.
