Hi Mickeykh,
Sorry for the many questions. It’s just that I have been away from home for quite a while and these days even if I do go back, it’s only for a day or 2. I am based in Kuching. Don’t get much updates………….
Have you heard of Sebastian Soh? Remember the Hoppono Kempo and then later the Northern ShaolinChuan Fa group in Palmer Road/Stevens Road/Stamford Road YMCA and later SAFRA Tampines?
Sebastian, an acquaintance, also a SiaoLim brother but got his stuff from Sifu Tan Choo Seng, Kok Tiong Bu Shu Kwan. Went to Japan and did some Japanese arts and later started his own style Hoppono Kempo/Northern Shaolin Chuan Fa.
In Singapore, he was famous for his Lohan – very powerful. And even Kao Kun (monkey).
The thing is; I heard from a Wing Chun friend in Singapore that he passed away??
Do you know anything about this?

Hi Eric, How did you know I was following this thread This is 十字金刚拳 , right? Unfortunately is does not look familiar to me at all. I think that our Chaat Jee Koon has more of a Hung Gar background, so I'heard. Not completelyclear on that. But nice pics thoug; again the low horse stance and straight backs. 85, 90 an 91 look like moves that could have come from the Lohan Koon form. Are these pics from a magazine or a yearbook? Simon

"Every move you make, every breath you take...."hehehe;D ;D ;D
But seriously, pics are from a old mag.
The SiaoLim brother is probably from Datuk Png's line.
"I will be watching you....."

Hi Eric, Looking at the clothing, he probably is of Master P'ng school. Are there any more pages with this article? Here are some pics of 'our' Chaat Jee Koon 十字拳 :

Hi Simon,
You're right. He is probably from Datuk Png's line. Yes, I'v got the whole set and soon (don't know when exactly), I'll get a scanner and do a proper scanning.
Simon, care to explain your 2 postures ?
The "Praying Posture" is found in many systems. Hung Gar, Hop Gar and CLF come to mind instantly.
Your other posture reminds me of Lohan.
Over to you.........

Do you know Sifu Teo Choon Teck / San Cheen Do ? I do not know him personally but heard of him frm Sifu many times..he used to train with us for 2 yrs many yrs ago..... Tai Chor is the other CKF that I did for many years. That is also a very strong MA Ah Joo and Ah Teck were “buddies” once. Sadly, among all my Sifus only Ah Teck , Sifu Lee Wen Shi (very old now), Sifu Seah Choon Cheok and my dad are still around. That would be an honour to meet these seniors upon my return.....Hope we can arrange that! What other styles are you in? I am with 1 southern style now & one forum member is here...keep the work guessing...hahah![/quote] Are you in AussieLand for good? U can say that again.......

Hey Mickey, Meeting Ah Teck and my dad is easy. Ah Teck is still teaching at SMAIA along Mountbatten Road next to PA headquarters. Really admire his stamina. My dad is retired but he still hangs out with his Fuzhou peers playing White Crane and stuff. Sifu Li is very old and ill, bedridden most of the times. I still visit him whenever I am back home. Together with my Suheng, he likes to reminisce about the good old days of White Crane in Singapore. He is in his late 90s. Sifu Seah is a very cranky man. A Chinese physician by profession, he is still operating his clinic in Hougang. This gentleman’s White Crane is awesome. Besides Whooping and Ancestral Crane, he is also an expert in “Shaking Crane”. Spent many years in Taiwan learning TCM and White Crane. When I was studying with him, I was always thrown left, right and center. (Like we say in Singapore hehehe). I guess the only reason he is entertaining me is because he is a good friend of my dad. Errrh, why did you leave land of Char Kuay Teow? If too private, “private message” me. Kam Sia…..

Hi Simon, Another group of SiaoLim brothers from Malaysia. These folks are from Perlis West Malaysia. I think probably from Datuk Png's line again.

Hi Eric,
The "Praying Posture" I think is pretty well known to all, including applications; deflecting long weapons, attack to throat, etc.
The second one: after a sudden turn I find myself looking my opponent while the sun is shining in my eyes. So I block the sun with my right hand (clearly visible on the pic) Then I can see that an attack is being made at the groin, which I block with my left hand. Other explanations and interpretations are always possible …<br>

Hi Eric, Pics look intresting. Never saw the style of printing on the T-shirts within the lineage of Master P'ng. But they could be his lineage. I'm pretty sure the pics were taken in Penang, at the Siong Kheng See (Sek Koh Sam's residence while in Penang) to be precise. Unfortenately I can't read the article. Not because it is Chinese, but because it is to blurry! Eric, can't wait until you get a propper scanner ;D Best wishes, Simon
