Music? Guitars.....wowwww..... I have six years lessons, a lovely instrument. Playing together with my teacher is great. Besides learning to play, it is a wonderful journey in learning to read a "song". And of course the interactions in between. Sorry, I am most ly stuck in the past, truly. With only one modern player, which I am crazy about. Some names: Peter Green, JOHNNY WINTER, Roy Buchanan, Alvin Lee, SRV, Rory Gallagher (broadly seen), and finally a youngster: Popa Chubby!!!!!!!! Album of the Year: Popa Chubby: 'Black Coffe Blues Band' [2004]. For those that are able to download from Bittorrient sides: torrent.youceff.com/search.php?search=popa+chubby

i really would like to see horse elephant lion are there photos? what are the trademarks? Evert did a great job explaining tthem actually. Horse is very defensive though ,and it's like evert said it's played as the hoofs or dbl legs. Elephant is based off the trunk of the animal ,alot of powerful strikes. Lion is more based off the jaws than the claws ,so there are alot of double clawing or rather gripping and ripping techniques. jeff:)

New to the forum which I found more or less by 'surfing'. I have been studying martial arts since 1969. I have studied various methods. I am a guro in kali and have a background in Temple Tai Chi Chuan , Jeet Kune Do and Yanagi Ryu aiki- jitsu. I studied GoJu a "life time ago".

Hi Kalista,
Welcome to our little forum.
Hmmm, you are into Kali/JkD , familiar with Pak Vic or Wiliem De Thouars (Uncle Bill)?
Uncle Bill is a good friend.
Spend some real quality time with him when I was teaching in Denver some years back.
Again, Welcome.

Hi folks, All of you know how this forum is never publicized in any way. Not linked to any search engine and I didn’t even bother to go to other forums to invite participation. Honestly, I just want to treat the forum as an emails broadcaster – multiple recipients and hopefully turned it into a MA teahouse. We say in Chinese; “Crossing swords on Hua San”. Another way of saying sharing MA know-how and experiences – my primary motivation for doing this forum. I did, however, push a couple of friends to sign up. And some of my students. It’s good to hear a novice’s point of view sometimes. With that, let’s welcome our newest member, Dean into our little family. Dean is one of my students here in Kuching, Sarawak. Only 6 months of training and he is starting to appreciate the splendor of this old thing we call TCMA.

Cool. Welcome. I should check this part of the forum more often. Though not a CMA practitioner myself (more by lack of opportunity than choice) I very much appreciate the opportunity to interact with people who've been in martial arts longer than I've been alive . . . It reminds me constantly of my youth ;D

Hi, I was told of this forum by Fatman I train in Lung Ying (Southern Dragon Style) under Sifu Chan Cheung in Australia. Been at it for 7yrs now. Prior to that I did about 1.5yrs of Judo, but I was absolutely terrible at it My sifu actually retired last yr, so I've ended up teaching a teenage class to local high school students. Any Aussies here?

Welcome Triskellin nice to have a Hakka player around. Personally I have (still) much affinity with Hakka Boxing due to my Pak Mei background in the seventies. As you know Lung Ying Mor Kiu is a form practiced a lot in Pak Mei.
I can say that time is spent on researching the cantonese - Hakka - Fukien arts. There are absolutely an overlap in skill, and maybe had strong influence on each other.
Currently I am in the middle of the research of the 'deity' as used in Fukien and Hakka arts. In fact a few hours ago I found the source, and might bring it up in this forum too.
A friend and colleague of my - Robert Hui - was a Dragon Boxer as well in his youth. Most discussions I have with him privately and on his forum.
I hope you will be able to contribute some of your thoughts/ wisdom as well? Looking forward for interactions.
Warm regards,
Evert.
