I have had the great fortune of never having to street fight. I am a fairly large man and trouble seems to usually shy away. I have tournament fought and in my mind its just not the same. Me as far as size, I'm your opposite, at 5'5 medium build I'm not very intimidating. And many times I have to adopt the fiercness of a mad tiger to get my messege through hostile individuals. I used to work as a security guard here & as a small guard " north american standand" I'm not intimidating. But one thing I found out, my fighting form works & it does intimidate would be trouble makers. Di sip kun, pah kat, song sui, sa tsat, si tsat & all nck forms work well.

Da jia ni men hao Physical appearence, size, does not really play an important part for martial practitioner. As long as you know and mastered the art well. The more "intimidating" the person looks, the more "itchy" for me to neutralised him. Cheers.

Sparing is also good cardio work out. Spar to condition & technique development. Work on combination attack & defense.
Spar not to hurt or to injured, put on all safety equipements headgear w/ face guard, armour, shin guard, groin protector & gloves. THis will make sparing fun ;D & safe.

Konghan ni hao It's true and a bit funny don't you think. We train martial arts, but at the end we made ourself choose not to involve in any fight. Cheers.

To use a quote - isnt that like "Art of fighting, without fighting"? Hungfist ni hao No wonder one of Sun Tzu's saying is "Winning hundreds battles are not victories. But to conquer your enemies without waging battles, this is the real victories." Cheers.

Avoid, rather than check. Check, rather than hurt. Hurt, rather than maim. Maim, rather than kill. For all life is precious, nor can any be replaced.
