Dear TenTigers
I just now, notice your quote;
"I will NOT be of the generation that killed Kung-Fu!"
Forgive me I am an old man.
What an inspirational statement!!
I remember when I was in my 20s, some kung fu brothers (different styles), kinda got together and made the same pledge.
Sadly, one 1 or 2 in this group remember this. Many are no longer really doing Kung Fu actively. With their families, business etc…<br>
I am lucky, in the sense that my wife is also from a Kung Fu family. She empathizes with my passion.
The traditional kung fu journey is a difficult one especially in these times.
• We don’t have the mass appeal of flashier WuShu.
• Many are simplifying Traditional Kung Fu to seek more followers thus eroding the arts.
• The crazy political in-fighting that is taking place within kung fu families.
• The charlatans, frauds and cons who are distorting Traditional Kung Fu for their own agenda.
My Kung Fu brothers and I said it slightly differently back then;
“Traditional Kung Fu must not die with us”.
We see ourselves as a link in the chain and we must fulfill by passing it on.
That is how to NOT kill it.
This little forum is created to bring the like-minded together.
Kung Fu brothers, young or old, who take it upon themselves to carry on the great tradition of Chinese Kung Fu.
An unfulfilled aspiration for me.
An aspiration, I hope that will rub on to the younger brothers in kung fu.
To quote ancient wisdom;
“In the Chang Jiang, it’s the younger waves that push the older waves”.
Thank you my young friend.
