NOOOO! I won't dispute Garuda on Chinese meaning on these verses as I am gwailo born, and yet it is a fact that there is always a prior element of control in all attacking action. What's wrong of viewing 1st action of control by using silence to gain it? And yes, I concur with G. fully on the 3rd point. Moving does not mean losing center. =) I am a Fuan Na. So, I dance and dont think that much.

This long and "complete" kuen Kuit is not too consistent throughout, at one point it is saying Lay Lau Hou Song, the other says "Shin Faat Jai Jan" (attack first). Then another one says "you don't move, I don't relax". So should I attack first or should I wait and stay tense?? Some others like #7 "Ling Hau Gai Been, Sze Pu Kung Boon" is not really contributing much to the Kuit. People may interprete this as running around more or changing angles more, end up making one more busy.
IMHO

Lay lau hui soong, Yee Chern chai Dong, lat sau jek chong, Kong Jou beng Yong. (cantonese)
come retain goes sent it back. using silence to subdue the action. release and thrust forward using both Kong and Jou combination.
-----
I note that you differ with the popular rendering of "lat sau jek chong" which is "when hand free thrust forward". Is "release" the intended meaning in this verse? Also what are Kong and Jou? Hard and soft?

I note that you differ with the popular rendering of "lat sau jek chong" which is "when hand free thrust forward". Is "release" the intended meaning in this verse? Also what are Kong and Jou? Hard and soft? Thus, I have heard, everything is depending on what level one in. the limbs, the momentum, the energetics? But then, the question is what level of awareness attainment one has to be in, in order to even implemtent the kuit? Thus, I have heard, there are 4 levels of Awareness at least. and might be more. 1, aware of oneself 2, aware of others 3 aware of both oneself and others and the connectivity 4, aware of there is no oneself or others or connectivity but the whole thing is a big flow of energy. So, which level does one needs for just to apply the kuit? as I have heard, it is nuts to think one can applied the kuit the first day. see, the thought might think so. the body might not know what is going on.... So, under that case, as I have heard, everyone based on everyone's thinking will have thier intepretation of what they think the Kuit is about. and there one can have a millions version of solution. but the fact is only one which is beyond the intepretation. Thus, I have heard, Chinese Martial art talks about Cin Cieh or the attainment state with Kung fu. So, there, one doesnt have to think one knows what is it for. and, there is no explaination because how to explain the feeling of diving into the water when one never really dive? people then will call others dishonest, lying, dont want to discuss about the details.. well, what to discuss? either one is there or one is not. until one knows how to dive and one can discuss what kind of fish one sees at different depth. until then what to discuss? but go to hawaii and learn how to dive. In the old time, no one will talk about theory or applications until one develop the stance. and how many of us really go develop the stance....etc instead of thinking if one can get some secret teaching from the web and become super human the next instant? people often make a mistake of thinking as long as their mind can think a certain way, their body will do it. that is an illusion. dont belive that? next time, when something bug you and you have that anger sensation in the body, think and see if you can get out of the anger sensation or the angry body just do whatever it wants and the mind become influence too. as Mas oyama said, spend 3 years doing thousands of the same drill with Un changing will, then one will know something. There is lots of truth in it. Thus, I have heard.
