Er- Mei or O-mei is considered by many CFK masters to be the 3rd foundation system of kung fu. The other 2 being Shaolin and Wu Dang. There is a 4th, Ching Cheng Pai, but relevant info is really scant. Er-Mei is really a consummate system in the sense that they:- 1. Place equal stress on both internal and external training. 2. Teach fighting concepts and techniques covering all the 4 ranges of combat. 3. Highly developed weapons systems both long and short. The interesting thing ,for me personally, is their push hands training – almost a carbon copy of Tai Chi push hands. They also do a series of punching that utilizes the one-knuckle or phoenix-eye fist. Last but not least are their Chin-Na methodologies. For those of you only familiar with the major 72 Chin-Na in Kung Fu, you’ll find Er-Mei Chin Na delectably different. This system has a special place in my research. There is a theory that Fang Chi Niang, founder of White Crane, studied this system. She was tutored by Chen Chin Nam, according to archives, an Internal Boxing expert. Many are now saying he could be Er-Mei. Comparing Er-Mei and Fuzhou White Crane, I do see many convergences
