Hello again . If any of you can help me out , I'd appreciate it very much . I have been a big person all my life , & all the above men are big as well . I would like to put together an article dedicated to big men in the Martial Arts , & let the general public know that you dont have to look like Bruce Lee , or Jean Claude Van Damme , in order to train , or be an excellent martial artist . Thank you in advance , & I appreciate any help any of you can give me .

Hi okinawagoju. You should try this site: www.emptyflower.com/xingyiquan/index.htmlCheck out their Drilling section and you can download wallpaper for your computer with pictures of Wang Shu Jin By the way, what branch of Okinawan Goju Ryu do you study? I have a good friend in Okinawan Goju Ryu, he can be found here: www.chi-i-do.com/

I've trained in Jundokan-Ha Goju ryu mostly , but have also trained Japanese Goju Ryu , & Shobukan Ha Goju Ryu via Seibukai , as well . I heard Kayo Sensei has tremendous knowledge . maybe one of these days I'll get to meet him . Somone gave me some footage of him a while ago , & I must say he is very powerful ! Thank you for your reply .

Your Welcome David,
Yeah Kayo is quite powerful and knowledgeable about Goju Ryu, he's also quite approachable. If your ever in New York City look him up, Im sure it will be some experience. ;D
Good Luck!

Do you train w/ him , as well ? Do you know if he teaches the training kata developed by Toguchi , or if he just teaches the 12 traditional goju kata ?

No David, I dont train Goju Ryu but a long time ago I trained and assisted in the teaching of the Ji Do Kwan variant of Kong Soo Do. Kayo's family and my mine are close and we share many other friends in the martial circle. Kayo's Karate is in my opinion the best in New York, I cant recommend anyone else for traditional training. Kayo teaches all 12 of Miyagi's Kata and Kin Gai Ryu as well. Kayo was part of Shoreikan in its early days, infact he was instrumental in establishing this organization in New York. I dont think Kayo teaches all those extra kata that Toguchi designed but he may teach those that Toguchi learned from Seiko Higa. On his site he has the requirements for each level and you could browse that section and see all the kata listed. Not too many people know this, but Kayo also studied with Rev. Sakiyama another student of Chojun Miyagi. Kayo's Tutors and Influence: Akira Kawakami & Rev. Sogen Sakiyama photo credit: D.Strout photo credit: Hick Ngow Lee Hope this helped
