Good day people. In my wanderings, I have come across this animal. It is another mythical creature and apparently, there is a dance for this animal. It is the cousin to the Qilin. Anyone able to shed more light on this animal? www.ataviz.com/article.asp?newsid=105Warmest regards, Tze Hou

Pi Xiu
Pi Xiu, also known as Pi Xie, resembles a winged-lion. According to legend, Pi Xiu is a ferocious auspicious beast that is in charge of patrolling the heavens and protecting the sanctuary from demons and infectious diseases.
Therefore Pi Xiu's authority and power in warding off evil spirits are unquestionable.
It must be noted that Pi Xiu has to face the exterior of the house.
What are Pi Xiu's functions in fengshui? 1. Protect a house and ward off evil spirits. Placing a blessed Pi Xiu at home will improve luck, secure your home and avert malignant spirits.
2. Dispel the inauspiciousness of the Wu Huang Star Wu Huang Star is an unlucky star. Apart from bringing on bad luck, the star can also cause sickness and ailment. It is best to situate a pair of Pi Xiu at the front of the main door. This will disperse the inauspiciousness of the Wu Huang Star. Price:

Good day diligentmantis.
Thank you for that reply. It was most informative. I have some more questions, the lions that you see outside Chinese restaurants, are those lions or Pi Xiu?
Also, do you know where I can see a demonstration of this dance as I am most curious as to what it looks like.
Warmest regards, Tze Hou

Good day Suhana.
Ah I see it now... Indeed, it is being used to usher in wealth and good fortune and to ward away evil spirits and bad luck. Any more information you can give me regarding this animal? I have never heard of this before I came across this website.
Warmest regards, Tze Hou

Greetings,
When I was in Beijing the guide told me that Pi Xiu was a guardian animal for bankers because it had, in his words, "no a**hole". Which means it takes everything in but gives nothing out. It rakes in the money.
It is one of the protector animals along the Spirit Walk for the Ming Dynasty Tombs.
For what it is worth,
Tobey

two things-if you place a pair at the front of your house at the ddorways, yet you say they dhould face the rea of the house, so would that be (let me see if I can explain this..) say if you have a front door, looking at it from your foyer, the lions would be on either side looking inwar, toeards the rear of the house? Two, is there a site that has info on this, as well as on Na Jahr? I was given a statue of him, and told he kills negative entities. Any info?

Good day people.
tobeyreed: I also read that it does not let out what it takes it, which makes it very interesting to me.
Tentigers: Na Jahr? Nezha? If so, Nezha is a deity who resides in heaven and is known for his fighting abilities. Weapons are a spear and his well-known twin wheels of fire.
Maybe someone can elaborate more on Nezha? The thing I am confused about is the relationship between Nezha and Lian Hua San Tai Zi. Are they one and the same? Many people have told me they are different entities.
Warmest regards, Tze Hou

Good day people. Maybe someone can elaborate more on Nezha? Warmest regards, Tze Hou Tze ni hao There are two versions about Na Cha / Ne Zha. Na Cha from the "Feng Shen Bang" version, Na Cha is a youth/child and has: 3 heads and 8 arms a fire spear a pair of fiery roller blades a magical sash of red cloth and a magical ring While from the "Journey to the West" version, Na Cha is also a child and has: 3 heads and 6 arms a broadsword a sabre a siu-kou (sort like a morning star) a fiery chakra (discus) and a sash of some sort Na Cha is the son of "To Wen Tian Wang" or" Directional God of the North." To Wen Tian Wang is the leader of the Four Directional Heavenly Gods. Cheers.

Good day diligentmantis.
Thank you for that website. It seems most websites say that the dance is performed by martial artists. Had a little history on the Pi Xiu there which was rather interesting.
Evert, have a look on that website, it seems you have been mentioned in there under the Hung Gar lineage, most interesting.
Warmest regards, Tze Hou
