Hi, i'm new here. Reading through some posts, I was amazed to see on this forums several kung fu enthusiasts from Malaysia. Eric Ling, you are in Kuching, correct? That's where I come from! But currently, I am in UK pursuing my studies. About me.. I started martial arts early this year, I learnt Chinese Kickboxing (San da) in my college at West Malaysia. I am very interested in Kung Fu, unfortunately I never realized it until it was almost time for me to go overseas. Before coming to UK, I learnt a kung fu 'form' from my sifu, called 'seven star punch', and that is all the Kung Fu experience I have. But it was a great experience. I was very sad that I didn't have time to learn more from him. Currently I learn western style fencing, it's really fun. But I believe kung fu is where my future will focus on. I am online alot reading about Kung Fu, and somehow I came across this website How many people here are from Malaysia?

Which part of kuching are you from? I have a landscaping business located at Taman Stutong Indah, near Tabuan Jaya. “Seven Star Punch”? Very interesting. Are you able to tell us more about this? Are you Kek by any chance? There are many “Kek” or Hakka high hands “hidden” in Sarawak considering the huge Kek community found here. Looking forward to your posts. Thank you.

Hi! Thanks for the welcome. Eric, I am from Satok area across the river. About seven star punch, I'm afraid I did not ask much about it's background when I was learning it. Well, there's some movements that involve claws, punches, blocks, 'snake style' throat grab, and alot more. My teacher said that there's many technniques within the form so as to confuse the opponent. It's quite along form. My sifu learnt it from his father. When I wanted to learn kungfu, he asked me wether I would like to learn seven star punch or a tiger form. It was a pity I did not have time to learn both. Learning kung fu was a great experience. My sifu was good to me, he taught me private lessons at his school specially for seven star punch, once a week for 2 months. He didn't charge extra, but he was very strict teaching me kung fu. A totally different attitude than when he teaches san da.
Btw i'm not hakka, i'm hokkien.
