i dont know but im not sure why you want ur sai sharp?
my advice would be to have them custom made. ill help you with the sai patern. taizi style(ala Konghan, with 1 inverted guard) or the more standard type with 2 guards facing up.
with ur size i must say that the guandao would be perfect for you. just be sure to practice all those 3x jumps :-)

hI , If you looking to buy sharp weapons esp the kwan dao try finding the Lungchuan version ( Dragonwell) these are the nearest to sharp you can get , you can Horne the edge with a fine stone.

I got a Lungchuan Chien hanging on the wall behind me right now. Got it sometime back in a small shop in Singapore selling Chinese opera materials and stuff... Really high quality - Chien body could be bent into an arc and still retain straightness when released. But I was told that their quality has since dropped because of mass production over in LungChuan. Have you thought of custom-making your weapons? My students in the US did some DIY butterfly knives for me and they were perfect! I am making all my own here in Kuching - I got a someone in a small machine-shop willing to do this for me. Comes to about the same in terms of cost especially if I need to import.

I have a pair of custom-made butterfly knives from Indonesia.
The cost of anything custom is so ungodly in the U.S.
There is a good guan dao for sale now. It is well made and sharp, but it is close to $300. I will consider it.

Here in the uk would cost a lot to get them custom made so its easier to buy or import. My father inlaw makes good parang ilangs. So next time i'm in sarawak i'll ask him to try making butterfly knives.
