Da jia ni men hao
Get focus gentlemen, I think we are talking about exotic weapons here, not "exotic" xiao jies ;D
I don't know if you guys know "Celurit", it's one of unique traditional weapons. Mainly use among pencak practitioners.
Cheers.

In my humble view, there is no such thing as "exotic". What is "exotic" for me might not be "exotic" for you and vice versa.
Keris for the Indonesian is common and we see it daily, but for people in other part of the world, they will see it "exotic", rare, etc.
Basically, what is not usual for our eyes, we seldom use it, then we will think it as "exotic."
Cheers.

NOW THOSE ARE EXOTIC WEAPONS!!!
exotic weapons for me are weapons that you dont see everytime and weapons that is out of convention...
to me i consider the 2x hook an exotic weapon and so is the 9segment flail. amongst traditional weapons. and the rest, are uhm...exotic! :-) hehehe
the sua peh or tiger fork isnt exotic. a pitchfork is the same as a tiger fork and is a common implement...the monk spade though is an exotic weapon and so is the zen staff

Exotic weapons to me - 3 piece staff, steel whip, spear on chain, steel fan etc..
It may be as simple as, I dont know how to use them, so it makes them 'exotic'.
