Hi Pitbull, What if he has got arms around you already and bulldozing you to the ground ? You know like UFC style fights ? slap his ears then breaking the neck just twist it right away after slapping the ear. How effective? The guy will blackout right away once you slap both ears at the same time (it is like a flashbang only you will see darker) then he is yours. Or just elbow or knee him then hammer all the way.

Hi Suhana, Nope. My instructors were from Beng Kiam which no longer active. It is too bad that Beng Kiam is no longer active, espacially since Beng Kiam is the direct descendant of the founder of ngo cho kun the great Sifu Chua Kiok Beng.

It was said that Dr. Lo Yan Chu and Tan Kiong Beng both practiced under Kong Po Chiam then to Chua Kiok Beng himself. I think the Lo Ban Teng and Sim Yong Tek lineage are same also under Chua Giok Beng's Ngo Cho Kun. I hope Beng Kiam become active again.

That is why Beng Kiam and Kong Han have very similar forms, very similar in technique principle and essence. The openning fist is identical, name of forms are identical, we are 100% identical. i hope that ngo cho kun in the Philippines will rise up again and be glorious just they were before in the 50s, 60s and 70s. i am still thinking and contemplating as to what happen, why suddenly ngo cho kun lost its lustre in the 90s?

Anybody here actually ever try this? ( matching up with a MMA practitioner? me, honestly, as far as that technique is concern no but I know that a powerful open palm strike into the ears can really be painful. But spar with a MMA yes. A lot of times it will boil down to skill level and experince.

I think the arrival of video games in the 90s shift away most of the young chinese interests from kung fu. They prefer playing video games than training. People are so much into multi-media they want to do most what is in television. Many young chinese in the philippines are becoming more attached to modern trend, more interest on wushu, aikido, jiujitsu, muaythai and karate. There are not much young chinese now that knows there is Ngo Cho Kun in Manila. Many young people now want to do everything the fastway. They were afraid to get arms bruised. Some even give up because they can't endure doing Si Pieng Be stance for a munite. They don't have the enthusiasm to do so. I think making Ngo Cho Kun popular will change this situation. They think kung fu is like what you see in hong kong movies, which they were really wrong.

Please excuse me for being so bold.
Let me express my teacher's opinion for this matter: "It is better to have one or two very dedicated students than to have a kwoon of undedicated students. These students will inherit the legacy of the arts."
That's his advice for me.
