will sitting in a sauna room help releive the joints? I'm no doctor, but I think eating nutrious food, good exercise ( nck forms ) & massage or dip in hot hydro or whirl pool will work. Check with Dr. Andy & see what he recomend.

how about "tsao kut"...how can we cure this? For that, seriously, one would need a personal trainer to push you, supervise, manage & motivate you to train. But you must also at least have an interest to learn. That is why it is a good idea once a student pay his or her six months course an instructor should personally be assign to monitor & train that person. And it is in seeing progress in ones training that would motivate one to continue to seek more advance training. Testing after one year training should also be part of the curriculum not just form testing but sparing & knowledege of the techniques found in the forms learned.

Sparing is good conditioning, spar for fun & conditioning soon your skill will develop. Put on all safety equipment, head gear w/ face guard, body armour, shin guard, boxing gloves, groin protector & go spar for 15 - 20 min.
Just go slow, light, spar not to hurt or injure work on technique combination. It will really give you a good sweat & it will be fun too ;D

For me a student, training & training is then to participate in competition to see how their training have develop & how effective it is. For coaches, instructors & teachers it is to see the effectiveness of their training meathod & to see their students absorbed & develop your principle & become an effective martial artist.

Final examination for students is to participate in competition the competition will be the judge of a students martial skill level. I heard that the Quan Zhou competition 04' will divided into two parts, one for those who are born before 1959 & one for those who are born after 1959. This will be good, becuase all the lao kut will be group together & it will be a competition of who is the least lao kut ;D
