I think I have reach the point where my joints are starting to stiff up like knees & hip. I need to do warm up longer. Is there some way to keep them fluid? or I guess that is really part of aging I need lots of ginseng

Heya "Old Bone" ;D
I'd like to suggest couple things:
1) Stretch more before and after your training. As we get older, there is no way to get around it.
2) I think you are doing weight. Maybe it is a good idea to get more cable works than barbells?
3) Rest well. There is no substitute for it.
4) Swimming is a good alternating exercise.
5) Some suggest Glucosamine supplement. I haven't used it personally. Maybe Tienchi pills will help to repair the degenaration.

Hi all you senior citizens,
Take lots of ginger. Do it in a soup form or just add ginger into your cooking.
We use ginger to keep away joints pain in our training.
The other thing is chillies - the Malays around here consume tons of it and they tell me it helps with controlling pain in the joints.
Frankly, I take ginger and chillies because they taste fantabulous. ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for all the advice, i think another reason for "rusty" joints is eating habit. I have always been a meat eater since I was a kid, vegetarians tend to be more flexible. At present, I'm changing my eating habits & adjusting my training including doing lots of nck forms to help loosen up & strengthen those "lao kut" joints ;D

Hi kong,
Another thing you might want to try is regular massage -the Thai style.
Not many in Kuching Sarawak but in Singapore they are all over the place.
I used to do this at least twice a month and they really helped.
I hear Muay Thai boxers have it as part of their routine in Thailand.
;D ;D ;D

Massage is actually part of training to loosen up as well as to keep the different muscles groups & nerves align properly & preventing any blood clotting. I use to ask my wife to give me some masseage but all I get is pinch nerves ;D I need a real massuer

Konghan ni hao I am not young any more but thank God, and touch wood, until today I don't have that lao kut problems. I believe the life style and diet contribute to this I enjoy "peranakan" dishes everyday. They are rich and strong in flavours. Ginger (as Eric suggested) included as well as lots of chillies and others spices, herbs. At least three times a week(30 minutes each) I ride bicycle. Brisk walk also part of my daily routines. I don't know if you like it, but consume "fung cao" (Phoenix claws) aka chicken feet, they can help bones and joints problem. Every time we have yum cha, "fung cao" is in the must eat list. Healthy and of course yummy Cheers.

I think more beh se, more hopping & leg push will strengthen it. Keep doing your sam chien sip di it will help strengthen & develop those legs or bag work start with round house & front kick 25x ea for 4 sets. Stay away from beer, whisky, brandy are ok ;D

Ha Ha Ha,
It is either that or spending too much time oogling at "girlie boys" posters.
Your punishment is to sit and face a blank wall for 9 years in a full lotus position.
Your mantra : No more girlie boys.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
