Da jia hao When people know that I am NCK practitioner, most of them will ask the "standard" question, "why NCK is put too much focus on power?" I would like to hear your comments on this issue. Cheers.

Cheers. Power gives you a better chance to survive in a fight, power can give you speed, speed without power is like the tidal wave without the wind. Power training through muscle tensioning where strikes are executed with the combination of outer & inner strength = explosive penetrating contact. It can be best demonstrated in a sparing. Just like MT, when they execute the round house kick they execute it with speed & power not just speed. Power without speed is like a tank without ammo & fuel.

Well, if you were going to knock down a house would you prefer to use a F1 racing car, or a bulldozer?

Da jia hao Thank you for your valuable inputs. As NCK practitioner myself, I know all the reasons. Maybe our friends from different styles want to add their opinion? Cheers.

Sorry I forgat to rescan the picture That is why if one is to train traditionally in NCK in its pure format of intensity with the purpose of developing explosive techniques, NCK is a formidable fighting art. Imagine the explosiveness of MT fighters in the way they execute the round house. NCK is suppossed to be like that in executing its low kicks & punches.

Its hard to seperate power & speed. But in training we tend to develop power first in the form of muscle tensioning, push ups & other drills. Once the power is develop speed will be come.
