I was first introduced to NCK when I was in junior high in Indonesia. I was about to be promoted to a blackbelt in a Korean art. Then curiosity brought me to my father's friend's house. I'had known him for a long time at that time and was told that he was a master of kungfu. I happened to come on a sparring day. I guess he could see the sparkles from my eyes ;D. So, he offered me if I also wanted to spar. How could I resist? I was able to defeat couple of newer students who had trained for less than 2 years. However, later I had to face his son. I got cornered really bad; I realized that at a close distance I couldn't do anything. I thought about it for couple days, then I came again later to start learning NCK. I never practiced that Korean art again until this day. Later, I got really closed with my teacher. Maybe it is because I came to train almost everyday. Maybe it is that our characters match (we have the same birthday, but years apart). So, he told me that I am like a son to him. The fatherly love makes me bound even further. Then, just lately I realized that the characteristics of NCK match my own characters. Maybe it is because I grew up with it. Right now, I still have a lot of things to learn from NCK. I just about to start to comprehend the art.

Without it, either the teacher or student will not achieved to the fullest. Cheers.

That's where I got the idea of choreoghraphing a set sparring between me & Rene. Rene is suppossed to be the northern leg he has this very flexible leg almost like rubber man he can do triple kicks very effortless while I'm suppossed to be the southern fist. Lam kun pak tui very nice I perform it I think 3x during our trour in China from Beijing to Chuan Chiu.

Hi brothers and sisters in NCK... ;D Well, Lo Ban Teng and his Kung Fu is very famous in Jakarta (Indonesia), so when I searched a Kung Fu school during my last year in Junior High, I was adviced to meet one of his grandson (Lo Hak Tiang sifu), who then was willing to accept me as his student. At first, the hardening training for arms and legs were very unusual and hard for me, but after a few month I became addicted to the training. ;D Also Sam Chien was pretty strange for me, having already learned Taekwondo for a few year. The Power generation in NCK is the most fascinating part that I admire until now. It's a pity that I had to stop studying it because of my study abroad. But the great thing is that few forms that I have learned in the short three years helps me in understanding other martial arts I'm studying right now. And it is very useful in infight (sparring)... Kind Regards, Marco

Yeah... Thank God! You wouldn't know, how I felt, when I found the NCK book from Alex Co in amazon or when I found the homepage (www.hokkian-siauwlim.com) for the first time. It is really hard to find a school of NCK here in Germany or even europe. Well, other Kungfus like Wing chun, Hung Gar, Choy Lee Fut, or Wushu are better spreaded in this part of world than our beloved NCK. Hopefully, NCK will always remain, shines and spread its wings too... Marco
