Hi, You read alot of ShanTung both on this forum and when talking about Kuntao from Indonesia/Malaysia etc But were in China is ShanTung, and do they have/had a monastery for practise kungfu? Someone wise Thanks

Shantung(or Shan Dong in hanyu pinyin) is a North-eastern province of China,it is a peninsula province so to speak. Historically it is where the state of Qi and Lu(Confucius' homeland) were located,and also known for its 'heros of the water margin'-Liang Shan Hao Han~~~ 'Martial art'-wise it is where the praying mantis style is founded, but you want to deliberately find a monastery to learnt Chinese MA?

The North east, that will be about and around the cities of Changchun, Fushun, Jilin etc ?? No, I don't want to be a monk, how much you would miss the good life  Only interested if there were any monastary in that region? Regards

Sorry i give you the wrong impression of its location, but Shandong is not so Northern but very eastern geographically,it is South to Hebei province~~~ Changchun,Fushun and Jilin(actually they belong to Liaoning province) are those that are really N-E regions of China~~~ Monastery......there are many in China i guess......
